Cheese Lover's Passionate 'Pear'-ing

Ingredients

  • 2 medium red delicious or Fuji apples, cored and sliced
  • 1 ripe pear cored and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons very fine fresh or dry breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablspoon brown sugar
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) grated Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) grated Cheddar cheese
  • 2-3 tablespoons pepper jelly
  • 6 small flour tortilias, cut into sixths
  • Melted butter (optional)
  • Cinnamon-sugar (optional)

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a 9-inch round pie plate, layer apple and pear slices. Combine breadcrumbs and brown sugar; sprinkle over fruit. Top with cheeses and pepper jelly.

Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes; remove from oven.

Increase oven to 375 degrees. Place torillia wedges on a baking sheet in a single layer. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar if desired. Bake about 6-8 minutes or until lightly toasted.

Serve tortillia wedges with baked fruit.
