Milk Temperature Survey


Thank you for testing the serving temperature of your milk. The optimum temperature at which milk should be served is between 35° and 40°F.

PROCEDURE:

  1. Please test the milk you serve for one day during each lunch period. Measure the temperature of one new container of milk per lunch period. Take the temperature of milk from a variety of different locations in the cooler.
  2. Using a calibrated thermometer, insert the probe at least 2-1/2 inches into the milk container. Wait for the reading to stop, taking time to ensure accuracy.
  3. Record the temperature of each milk cooler using a calibrated thermometer.
  4. Answer the questions in the Analysis section below.
  5. Retest the milk temperature if necessary.
