Fueling Up on Milk Earns Students a Trip to a Titans Game

Send to a friend
NASHVILLE, TENN. – December 6, 2010 - On December 5, students from several Tennessee school districts earned a once‐in‐a-lifetime trip to visit the sidelines of a Tennessee Titans game. The students got to take in a game day experience, including a meet and greet/photo opportunity with Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher, a spotlight on the stadium’s big screen, and to welcome the team onto the field as players came through the tunnel and Titans helmet for introductions.

This opportunity is a result of a partnership between the Tennessee Titans, Purity Dairies and Southeast United Dairy Industry Association (SUDIA) with the Fuel Up To Play 60 "Titans of Taste" Purity Milk Contest.

The contest is an effort to promote the importance of a healthy active lifestyle among the region’s youth. The Fuel Up to Play 60 program encourages students to take charge of their personal wellness by exercising for 60 minutes each day and fueling up with healthy foods such as low‐fat and fat‐free
dairy, whole grains, leans meats, fruits and vegetables.

Students from several schools in Middle Tennessee were selected to take part in the event including:
• Six schools from Davidson county
• Coffee County
• Franklin County
• Rutherford County
• Giles County
• Williamson County

“This was a great opportunity to meet the students and their parents,” said Bob Strasser, a dairy farmer and SUDIA’s board president. “It is always fulfilling to see the investment that Tennessee dairy farmers make in our young people being used to encourage healthy eating habits and increased physical activity.”
