New Look of School Milk - Packaging


Teens With Milk A key component of the New Look of School Milk program is the introduction of easy-to-open, kid-appealing plastic packaging. Many school nutrition professionals have found that the program helps pay for itself through increased milk sales, meal participation and federal reimbursements.

Another benefit of the program is the ability to implement a school recycling program, which provides an opportunity to teach students to respect and take care of the environment. Plastic milk bottles are more readily recycled than polycoated paperboard milk cartons, and recycling one ton of plastic bottles saves nearly 4 barrels of oil, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and saves landfill space.
