Putnam County, Ga.—On September 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the Southeast United Dairy Industry Association (SUDIA) will team with Putnam County Elementary (PCE) to celebrate the ninth annual World School Milk Day (WSMD).

WSMD, celebrated by more than 40 countries, provides schools with an opportunity to recognize local dairy farmers while educating children about the importance of dairy foods.

To celebrate this global event, local dairy farmer spokespersons Heck Davis will pass out pencils and stickers to milk drinkers during lunch.

“Participation in WSMD provides schools with a great opportunity to engage children and teach them about the importance of drinking milk for strong bones and teeth,” said Davis.

To show appreciation to Southeast dairy farmers, SUDIA staff is working with top dairy producing counties in each state throughout the SUDIA region. This effort will honor local dairy farm families and the nutritious dairy foods they produce.
