Trist Middle School Participates in New Wellness Initiative, Fuel Up to Play 60
Meraux, La. – On October 30 the Southeast United Dairy Industry Association (SUDIA) and the New Orleans Saints will team with Trist Middle School (TMS) to launch the Fuel Up to Play 60 (FUTP60) program, aimed to combat childhood obesity.
This youth-led program empowers children and teens to live activity and healthy lifestyles by exercising for 60 minutes each day and eating nutrient-rich foods such as low-fat and fat-free dairy.
To celebrate the launch of the new program, TMS will host a student and faculty volleyball tournament. Two Saintsations cheerleaders and the team’s mascot Sir Saint will be in attendance to cheer on the teams.
To further encourage program participation, TMS will provide students with pedometers to help them track their daily physical activity.
“The FUTP60 program is a great way to inspire students to maintain personal wellness by exercising and eating healthy foods such as dairy,” said Linda Greco, SUDIA’s program account manager of Louisiana.
