New Orleans Saints’ Marques Colston Signs as a 2009-2010 Southeast Dairy Association Spokesperson
Marques Colston was selected as the 2009-2010 Southeast United Dairy Industry Association (SUDIA) spokesperson from the New Orleans Saints.
As a SUDIA spokesperson, Colston inspires students to live active and healthy lifestyles by encouraging participation in the “Fuel Up To Play 60” (FUTP60) program.
FUTP60 is a youth-based program that encourages students to exercise 60 minutes each day and eat a well balanced diet, including low-fat and fat-free dairy.
Colston, 26, is a wide receiver and was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in 2006 and become the only rookie in Saints history to go over 1,000 yards receiving. In October 2006 Colston was named the NFL Rookie of the Month.
Colston began playing football at the age of six and continued to live an active lifestyle throughout his youth. In college, Colston broke the school’s single game receiving yards record and was selected to the All-Atlantic-10 team his senior year.
“Colston’s achievements and dedication to living an active and healthy lifestyle make him a great role model for children,” said Linda Greco, SUDIA’s program account manager for Louisiana. “The FUTP60 program is a great way for students to learn about the importance of physical activity and nutrition.”
